Vena Marie has been practicing yoga since 1998, starting with a Rodney Yee VHS tape. Initially only a physical practice, yoga became a tool for managing depression, navigating life changes, healing from two car accidents , and coping with pain. Teaching yoga wasn’t on her radar, until her first yoga instructor encouraged her to lead a Parks & Recreation class in 2008. Her style of teaching has evolved from energetic “power” yoga to focus more on releasing trauma in the body, movement despite physical limitations, and acceptance of wherever one is in the moment.
Vena Marie holds her E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) 200-hour Certification and YogaFit for Warriors Certification (trauma sensitive yoga). Teaching over 2,000 hours of classes, she has worked with high school & college athletes, active military and veterans, and elderly individuals to help them gain strength and balance. Currently pursuing her Yoga Therapy Certification and Awakened Breath High Impact Healer Certification, Vena Marie is excited to gain more knowledge and skills to help those in pain, whether mental or physical.
She loves coffee, dark chocolate, and the beach!
